Q: What do you do with the funds I invest?
A: Victorian Securities predominantly lends against registered first mortgage securities over titles to real estate in Australia with the balance of funds invested in Australian banks and other investments as permitted by the Trust Deed.

Q: Is repayment of my investment secured?
A: Repayment of all monies that have been or may be deposited with the Company for investment in Debentures is secured by a charge over the whole of the assets and undertaking of the Company in favour of Permanent Nominees (Aust.) Limited as Trustee for the holders of Debentures.

Q: How do I invest?
A: To invest in Debentures, simply complete the application form accompanying the Prospectus and forward it to our office with a cheque or money order. Please note that Victorian Securities is unable to accept cash for investments. Cheques or money orders should be made payable to the name(s) in which the account is to be opened or Victorian Securities Corporation Limited.

Q: Who can apply to invest?
A: Investments can be opened in single or joint names, or in names of partnerships, trusts, businesses, companies and other incorporated bodies.

Q: Is there a minimum opening balance?
A: We are happy to accept a low initial investment of $100.

Q: Is there a choice of terms available?
A: Funds can be invested with Victorian Securities on an "At Call" basis or for a variety of investment terms and interest rates.

Q: Are there any fees or charges?
A: There are no establishment charges, no ongoing fees and generally no exit fees which apply to any investment pursuant to this Prospectus. An interest rate adjustment/penalty fee may however be applied for early repayments at the discretion of the company. As a further benefit to investors, we will generally absorb the cost of debits taxes on transactions. We reserve the right to pass on these charges.

Q: How is interest paid?
A: You can choose to receive your interest entitlement in one of two ways:

  • Reinvested in additional Debentures with us
  • Credited directly to your account with a Bank, Building Society or Credit Union

Q: How is interest calculated?
A: Interest is calculated on the investment balance of your Debentures on a daily basis from the date of receipt of your application monies.

Q: When is interest payable?
A: Term investments will have interest paid in arrears each half year from the commencing date and/or on maturity. For "At Call" investments interest is paid in arrears half yearly on the first days of April and October.

Q: Can I add to an existing investment?
A: Additions to investments for the remaining period of the original investment may be accepted, at our discretion.
